Something spectacular is waiting for your family in Myrtle Beach!

Pirates Voyage is a dinner and show experience filled with adventure, laughs and amazing stunts that is sure to please the whole family. We have never been to a dinner show but when my son asked to forego a birthday party in favor of a trip to Pirates Voyage, it was an easy request to accommodate. The adventure starts an hour before your show time with a pre-show where you get a taste of what your pirate life will be. The whole room is filled with a pirate sing-along with the words projected on the screen, so you’re sure to catch on fast!

The pirates circulate through the audience riling up the crowd. If there was ever a way to create a motley crew of pirates, this is it! Kids can get glitter tattoos and become full-fledged pirates or mermaids with face painting and accessories. The stunts on stage during the pre-show give a hint of what awaits you when you enter Buccaneer Bay.

Once you enter Buccaneer Bay, a crew member will help you get seated and make sure beverages are on their way. The excitement is contagious with, kids decked out in pirates gear, red and blue flags flying to differentiate the crews, and of course the huge ships in the bay in front of you. The show begins with a salty pirate welcoming the new recruits and the introduction of our pirate captain for the night. We were assigned to the sapphire crew. The show carries on with a great classic storyline of the missing treasure of Davy Jones, and of course North Carolina's favorite pirate, Blackbeard is front and center!

The show continues with some incredible pyrotechnics, as the bay catches on fire and the whole room just oooed and ahhed at once! Mermaids make an appearance from the ceiling, and the acrobatics that they perform on anchors mesmerized the whole crowd. The mood turns from mysterious mermaids to a rollicking good time when members of the audience are chosen to help compete in the pirate competition. Sapphire and Crimson crews compete for Davy Jones treasure, and the ghost of Davy Jones shows up in a black light spectacular and warns the crews to stay away! The competition continues anyway with duck chasing, boat pulling races, diving challenges and some super-cute labs chasing a ball in the water.

The crowd is so loud at this point you can't help but to get on your feet to cheer for your pirate crew to bring home the treasure. During the show you're seamlessly served a meal that will make even the pickiest of your crew happy. A creamy vegetable soup is followed by roasted chicken that is served with corn, roasted potato and pulled pork. The dinner is followed by a flaky, warm apple pie and unlimited tea and Pepsi. Adult beverages are available for purchase during the show. The show culminates in an epic battle filled with sword fights, cannon blasts and, of course, a dual to the end. I'm not going to spoil the ending, so you’ll have to go see for yourself. My kids were still talking about the show the whole next day. Forget everything you think you know about dinner shows. Put Pirates Voyage on your summer bucket list, and let the experience blow you away!

My family and I attended Pirates Voyage as guests, our show tickets were compensated. All opinions stated in this post are my own.
